Dear ,
Thanks for signing up to the Backup Exec FAQ newsletter.
Is it really that long since the last newsletter?
Recent Backup Exec Developments
When the last newsletter was sent out, Backup Exec 12 had only been out a week or two. Since then there have been plenty of hotfixes. The good news is that since LiveUpdate seems to work more reliably in Backup Exec 12, I've lost count of how many! The more important good news seems to be that Backup Exec 12 is being more warmly received than Backup Exec 11d was. As I've not been keeping fully up to date with Backup Exec news for the last few months, I don't have much more to add. If you'd like to point anything out to me, just log in to the sitw and use the "Get in Contact" link from the "Contribute" page.
Recent Site Developments
The poll asking how many physical server you protected with Backup Exec ran for over 3 months. The three options covering the 5-49 options took 75% of the vote, and were fairly evenly split. See the results for yourself at http://www.backupexecfaq.com/component/option,com_poll/Itemid,21/task,results/id,5/
The next poll asked whether you backed up to disk or tape. Tape still seems to have the majority, but 24% of respondents backed up to disk first, then duplicated to tape. Results can be found at http://www.backupexecfaq.com/component/option,com_poll/Itemid,21/task,results/id,6/
The next poll is open, and asks whether you backup Microsoft Exchange. The poll can be found at the bottom of any page on the site.
I have previously commented about changes to the site layout. Plans for this are still on hold. I mentioned that I may remove the comments, but I had a few people contact me to say that they wanted to keep them. I'd love to hear your feedback on this, or any other ideas you may have for the site. You can get in contact by logging in to the site, and using the "Get in Contact" link from the "Contribute" page.
Don't forget that if you'd like to contribute an article to the site, all submissions are greatfully received. We currently get around 400 visitors per day, with the majority of these coming from search engines, so you can be sure that if your article is helpful, it will be read.
Thanks for trusting me with your email. I hope you found this newsletter useful.
