Protecting your backups

Once you've made your backups, how do you ensure that the data can only be read by you? In versions of Backup Exec up to 10d, the only media protection option was to use a password to protect the media. From 11d the base product includes data encryption capabilities, so the data on tape is encrypted and can't be deciphered without the encryption key. Needless to say that when encryption keys are generated, you should ensure that they are noted down securely.
